 TRAINING GROUPS

Group IV is for our 10 and under swimmers who show proficiency in the four competitive strokes. Stroke instruction, technique, starts and turns are emphasized along with a basic conditioning program. The group meets three times per week.

Group III is specialized training for 11-12 year olds. Proper stroke technique continues and dry-land conditioning is introduced, along with basic training skills. They meet four times per week.

Group II is for the swimmer, 13-14, who is serious about training and commitment. Dry-land training continues and weight training is introduced. This group meets six times per week.

Group I is for high school age swimmers who are committed to training hard and growing together as a group. Technique work continues as well as a high level of set training and conditioning including extensive dry-land and weight training.

National Team is the Y' s highest level of training. Along with all of what Group I does, a serious commitment in terms of attendance, training intensity and meet participation is required. Workouts may include before school dry-land or weight work as well as required morning workouts.
